Devices No Longer Supported as of the end of 2025 (Android / KitKat or Older)
WhatsApp dropped support for Android devices running KitKat (4.4) or older from January 1, 2025. Among the older phone models affected:

Samsung: Galaxy S3, Galaxy Note 2, Galaxy Ace 3, Galaxy S4 Mini

Motorola: Moto G (1st Gen), Moto E (2014), Razr HD

HTC: One X, One X+, Desire 500, Desire 601

LG: Optimus G, Nexus 4, G2 Mini, L90

Sony: Xperia Z, Xperia SP, Xperia T, Xperia V
iPhones No Longer Supported as of May 2025 (iOS Older Than 15.1)
Support ended for iPhones that cannot upgrade to iOS 15.1 or later. From May 5, 2025, the following models are no longer compatible with WhatsApp:

iPhone 6 Plus
Devices Using KaiOS (Feature Phones)
WhatsApp support has been fully discontinued on KaiOS devices, and the app will no longer be installable or usable—even for previously logged-in users—by early 2025.
Recommendations
- If your device falls into any of these categories, you must upgrade to a newer phone with Android 5.0 or later or iOS 15.1 or later to continue using WhatsApp.
- Before switching, be sure to back up your chat history and media (via Google Drive for Android or iCloud for iOS) to avoid data loss.
